“Small enough to fit in your hands but too prickly to hold” is a good description of the hedgehog. Though small, it is by no means defenseless. Thousands of stiff, sharp spines-harder and sharper than those of a porcupine-cover the animal’s back and sides, like a pincushion filled with needles.

Shanxi Province, whose name means land west of Taihang Mountain, lies in the middle reaches of the Yellow River and on the eastern edge of the Loess Plateau. The Yellow, Haihe, and Fenhe Rivers flow through Shanxi, whose splendid landscape is graced by the celebrated Taihang and Liliang Ranges and Hengshan and Wutai Mountains. Most parts of the province are more than 1000 meters above sea level.

Wimbledon 2010 first round match between qualifier Nicolas Mahut of France and 23rd-seeded John Isner of Tampa, Fla. played on the 22nd, 23rd of June, 2010 and continued on June 24th, was finished at 4–6, 6–3, 7–6(7), 6–7(3), 68–70 in the fifth set. Tallest trees refer to the height of the tree. In August 2006, a new “tallest tree in the world” was found. It was found in a California redwood, and it’s location was Redwood Forest ( Redwood National Park, California). This tree has been named “Hyperion” (from Greek mythology) and stands 115.61 meters (379.3 feet) tall! The Coast Redwood is probably the tallest tree on earth, although one occasionally hears of extraordinarily tall eucalypts in Western Australia, and during historical times there have been Douglas-firs (Pseudotsuga menziesii) recorded as being taller than any Coast Redwoods now living. However, it is quite likely that the tallest Coast Redwoods were early victims of the axe, so it is difficult to say if the Redwood was the tallest of conifers during early historical time.

North Korea have been told by Fifa that Kim Myong-won will only be able to play as a goalkeeper in the World Cup and not in his usual role as a striker. The North Korean coach, Kim Jong-hun decided to name only two regular goalkeepers in his squad with Kim, who plays for Amrokgang, as the back-up.

The Kockice Lego club based in Zagreb, Croatia is hosting a large Lego expo in Tehnical Museum, Zagreb from May 13 to June 24. Here’s some info on what’s included in the expo from the coordinator Matija Grguric:
There will be featured lots of large models, including all current exclusive sets, a large city diorama, scaled models of Croatian buildings, a steampunk diorama featuring more than 30 aircrafts, castle diorama, pirates diorama, SW dioramas, space and many more. Exhibition space is spread on 450 square meters. LEGO is also participating with some of their models and displays, including a huge Einstein head weighing more than 250 kg. German scientists announced on Monday they believe they have discovered sunken islands in the Caribbean Ocean following a deep sea expedition in April.
During their six weeks in the waters north of Venezuela and west of the Antilles, the experts from the University of Greifswald analysed rock samples from depths of more than 1,000 metres.
